Fast facts

  • A grassroots group of early childhood educators and parents founded the Child Development Center in 1975.
  • Today the center operates as a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 under the management of a volunteer board of parents and professionals. A Wyoming State Developmental Disabilities Division Grant provides 90 percent of the CDC’s funding, based on the number of children served. The grant requires a 3 percent match from local grants and individual donors.
  • The CDC follows the same rules and regulations as public schools under federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act legislation and is monitored by the Wyoming Developmental Disabilities Division and Department of Education.
